Sweet's syndrome was initially described as a reactive dermatosis character
ized by sudden onset of fever, leucocytosis, and raised erythematous plaque
s infiltrated with neutrophils, and therefore called acute febrile neutroph
ilic dermatosis. However, later it became obvious that fever and neutrophil
ia are variable features, and a number of other characteristics have been d
escribed. Although the dorsa of the hands are frequently affected, the palm
oplantar involvement mimicking pustulosis observed in our case appears to b
e unusual.
