Thermoelectric power(TEP) and resistivity of c-axis aligned powders of
the Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8+delta and the (BiPb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+delta are invest
igated as a function of temperature. The alignment was done by applyin
g a 9.4T magnetic field at room temperature to the sample powder embed
ded in epoxy. The sign of TEP is positive and a broad peak is exhibite
d in the normal state characteristic to all the cuprate superconductor
s. Unlike the magnetic properties, the TEP as well as the Montgomery r
esistivity of these samples have shown isotropic properties.
