Abstract
A total of 150 human sera was used to evaluate a commercial latex agglutina tion kit for detecting antibodies to the lipopolysaccharide of Escherichia coli O157. A comparison of the kit with SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting showed that the kit had a sensitivity of 94.12%, a specificity of 99.15%, a positi ve predictive value of 96.97% and a negative predictive value of 99.15%.
