In genetics, and even more recently in genomics, the development of ethical
norms has paralleled that of scientific progress. Compared to the relative
simplicity of earlier questions, these new ethical challenges, dealing wit
h population genetics and species specificity are far more complex. in this
article, we will show how progress in cloning technologies could change ge
netic medicine and force us to reconsider the definition of species integri
ty and ultimately of what makes us humans.
