On the basis observations of carbonate parameters from joint Canadian-Russi
an expeditions aboard the R/V "Akademik A. Vinogradov" in April-June 1991 a
nd in August 1992 the linear relations between inorganic carbon, total alka
linity, pH, and temperature were determined. The changes in the carbonate s
ystem of the surface water in the Northwest Pacific were found as a result
of CO2 concentration increase in the atmosphere. The flux of antropogenic C
O2 was distinguished in the total flux of CO2 between the ocean and the atm
osphere.
