Abstract
Suspended matter in the shallow zone Black Sea shelf (4-50 m) was collected by 34 sediment traps of the cylinder type, using standart methods of ultra filtration. Samples were analyzed with an electronic microscope by mineralo gical and chemical (silicate) methods. The main components of the suspended matter are biogenic matter, lithogenic particles (clay minerales, quartz, calcium carbonate and others) and suspended pollutions.
