We have measured the isothermal magnetization of UBe13 to 60 T in a pulsed
magnetic field. The measurements were made over a temperature range of 0.5
to 4 K. The data are well fit by both a J = 1/2 Brillouin function model an
d a simple band model. Both fits extrapolate to a saturation moment of 1.9
+/- 0.2 mu(B)/U atom. Our results suggest that a metamagnetic transition in
UBe13 is unlikely.
