Two-neutrino double-beta decay of Mo-100 to the first 0(+) excited state in
Ru-100 has been detected with a half-life of 9.3(-1.7)(+2.8) x 10(20) yr.
Two peaks at 539.53 and 590.76 keV were observed for summing up spectra fro
m measurements with different Mo-100 metal-powder samples and low-backgroun
d germanium detectors, Combining the new data with the Soudan experimental
data, the decay half-life is estimated as 7.6(-1.1)(+1.6) x 10(20) yr with
a 15% systematic error.
