Abstract
Trigonal Gd-157(3+) impurity centers in SrF2 and BaF2 were experimentally s tudied by EPR and double electron-nuclear resonance (DENR) techniques. Para meters of the hyperfine and quadrupole interactions between these centers w ere determined. Possible distortions of the nearest atomic environment of t he impurity centers are estimated within the framework of a superposition m odel using the EPR and DENR data for the centers of cubic and trigonal symm etry in the crystals studied.
