Abstract
A method is proposed for measuring failure stresses and elastic modulus for a coating by means of a four-point bending with precision deflection measu rement A composite has been examined having an Fe83B17 coating on steel St3 . The moduli measured by this method are lower by factors of 2-3 than that for the steel. This is explained by the high porosity of coating and weak c ohesion of the coating particles.
