Gl. Smilshkalne et Ea. Palchevskis, Use of neutron-activation analysis in order to evaluate chemical inhomogneity in aluminum-nitride ceramics, POWD MET ME, 38(5-6), 1999, pp. 301-303
The possibilities of neutron-activation analysis for monitoring the uniform
ity of yttrium distribution in aluminum nitride ceramics with additions of
yttrium oxide are studied. The results are processed by a two-factor disper
sion analysis scheme. The roles of individual sintering factors, liquid pha
se content and also the method for charge preparation on the uniformity of
yttrium-containing phase distribution and migration are established. Sinter
ing conditions are recorded that provide the best indices for uniform yttri
um distribution in the nitride ceramic obtained.
