Radiothulium is potential candidate in the field of nuclear medicine. In vi
ew of this, carrier-free Tm-163,Tm-165 isotopes have been produced by the a
ctivation of natural Eu2O3 with 80 MeV O-16 beam. Radiochemical separation
of produced thulium isotopes from the bulk target matrix of europium oxide
has effectively been carried out by liquid-liquid extraction using HDEHP as
liquid cation exchanger.
