The reciprocal effects between the constituents of a mixed extractant (a mi
xture of the commercial products Alamine 336 and LIX 54) were studied in th
e extraction of copper and zinc from chloride solutions in a broad acidity
range including the pH region. It is found that the chelating extractant LI
X 54 has a strong influence on the extraction of copper and zinc with the a
nion exchange extractant Alamine 336. An effect of the amine on the extract
ion of zinc with LIX 54 is also established.
