Abstract
The partition coefficients of 6-aminopurine(adenine), 2-amino-6-hydroxyprin e(guanine), 4-amino-2-hydroxypyrimidine(cytosine) and 5-metyluracil(thymine ) in the poly(ethylene glycol) 6000(PEG; Avg.M.W.=7,500)(1) -dipotassium hy drogenphosphate (K2HPO4)(2) - water(3) system were determined at 298.15 K, to evaluate the effect of bases composing deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) on the ir partition coefficients in the aqueous two-phase system. Furthermore, the osmotic virial equation was used to correlate the partition coefficients o f adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine.
