Abstract
Six new complexes of the light lanthanide elements La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm and E u with Schiff base ligands derived from salicylaldehyde and glycine have be en synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar electrical co nductivities, magnetic moments, infrared and electronic spectra, and thermo gravimetric analyses. All of the complexes were found to be non-electrolyte s of the general empirical formula Ln(L)(HL). nH(2)O, where H2L is the glyc ine Schiff base ligand and n is 3 or 3.5.
