Abstract
Grade inflation pervades American schools from the K-12 level through the g raduate level. The trend is particularly pronounced in the humanities field s and in departments, schools, and colleges of education (DSCEs). This prob lem presents a leadership opportunity for DSCEs to develop and implement a credible and meaningful grade-distribution system.
