Abstract
Acceleration of the intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction of vinylsulfonic es ters and amides bearing acyclic and carbocyclic 1,3-diene moieties by appli cation of high pressure leads to excellent yields of sultones and sultams, respectively, at ambient temperature.
