Ma. Shogren-knaak et al., alpha-Chloroacetyl capping of peptides: an N-terminal capping strategy suitable for Edman sequencing, TETRAHEDR L, 41(6), 2000, pp. 827-829
Use of an alpha-chloroacetyl group allows for the conditional N-terminal ca
pping of peptides. This capping group is easily introduced and stable over
a broad pH range, but can be converted to glycine by aqueous ammonia treatm
ent in order to perform N-terminal Edman peptide sequencing. (C) 2000 Elsev
