Dt. Asilbekova et al., Composition of the floral waxes of Rosa gallica, Jasminum grandiflorumm, and Viola odorata, CHEM NAT CO, 35(3), 1999, pp. 295-300
The chemical compositions of the waxes of the flowers of Rosa gallica L., J
asminum grandiflorum L., and Viola odorata L. have been characterized The w
axes of these plants mainly contained hydrocarbons and fatty and cyclic alc
ohols and their esters with fatty acids. The highest level of free fatty ac
ids (12.4%) was found in the J. grandiflorum wax. Depending on the plant sp
ecies, the above-mentioned groups of substances differed in composition and
amount but hydrocarbons predominated.
