Abstract
The gastrointestinal tract is the most common site for extranodal lymphomas , The most common, and consequently the most studied, gastrointestinal lymp homa is gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, which is a para digm for all gastrointestinal lymphomas, Recent advances in oncogenesis, ge netics, and immunology have all yielded important discoveries that enhance our understanding of this lymphoma. The implications of these new advances are beginning to translate into changes in therapeutic approach. (C) 2000 L ippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.
