C. Deslouis et al., Characterization of calcareous deposits in artificial sea water by impedances techniques: 2-deposit of Mg(OH)(2) without CaCO3, ELECTR ACT, 45(11), 2000, pp. 1837-1845
Mg2+ and the corresponding Mg(OH), play roles in the transformation of calc
areous deposits in sea water. In this paper, only Mg(OH)(2) deposition is c
onsidered. The composition of other components involved (except Ca2+ ions)
also follows ASTM standards. A model of Mg(OH)(2) film formation is present
ed by considering this film as a porous layer. The basic technique to inves
tigate the Mg(OH)(2) film formation has been chronoamperometry used in conj
unction with ac impedance and EHD impedance techniques to complement the in
formation about the morphology of the magnesium hydroxide deposit. (C) 2000
