SYNDROME-X AS A BASIS OF ISCHEMIC-HEART-D ISEASE

Metabolic syndrome X is an integrative interrelationship of hormonal a nd metabolic disorders principal of which are hyperinsulinemia, elevat ion of very low density lipoprotein and lowering of high density lipop rotein levels, arterial hypertension. The paper is based on a study of presence and severity of hyperinsulinemia in healthy subjects with va rious initial spectrum of lipids and in patients with ischemic heart d isease with different extent of coronary atherosclerosis according to angiography. A test with fat load was used in the study. It was shown that disturbances of tolerance to fat both in healthy persons and in p atients with ischemic heart disease were combined with pronounced insu lin resistance. In patients with ischemic heart disease and hyperinsul inemia decresed secretion of somatotropic hormone was observed both at rest and after fat load.
