Vv. Kondratiev et al., EFFECT OF A SINGLE-DOSE OF SOME ANTIANGIN AL DRUGS ON THE STATE OF TACTILE AND PAIN SENSITIVITY OF SKIN IN PATIENTS WITH ANGINA-PECTORIS, Kardiologia, 37(3), 1997, pp. 17-21
In 10 men aged 39-65 years with ischemic heart disease and stable clas
s II-III effort angina tactile and pain thresholds were assessed by el
ectric skin stimulation (skin electrosensometry). Effects of nifedipin
e (20 mg), propranolol (40 mg), verapamil (80 mg), trinitrolong (3 mg)
and placebo (2 tests) an these thresholds were evaluated. After nifed
ipine increment of tactile threshold (lowering of tactile sensitivity)
was substantially greater than after any other drug used in the study
or placebo (p=0,0001, Duncan's multiple range test). None of the drug
s produced significant elevation of pain threshold. The ability of nif
edipine to lower tactile sensitivity might be a factor contributing to
development of painless myocardial ischemia.
