Abstract
Increasingly stringent requirements in the service life of refractory linin gs for furnaces used in the nonferrous metals industry have necessitated th e development of basic high-grade products to meet demands on wear resistan ce. The use of a new generation of high-density brick types has substantial ly enhanced key physical properties, such as erosion and corrosion resistan ce. A practice-oriented testing method has been developed to measure struct ural flexibility, a parameter that plays an important part in many applicat ion. By optimizing these brick properties, products that withstand even hig h thermomechanical stress have been successfully manufactures.
