Abstract
The reaction of substituted 1-lithio-o-carboranes with tropylium tetrafluor oborate produces 7-(o-carboran-1-yl)cyclohepta-1,3,5-trienes, which can als o be obtained by decomplexation of the corresponding tricarbonylchromium co mplexes prepared from 1-lithio-o-carboranes and [(C7H7)Cr(CO)(3)]+BF4-.
