Abstract
A novel millimeter-wave short backfire antenna with a circular waveguide TM 01 mode feed is proposed and simulated rising the FDTD method It has a radi ation pattern that is similar to that of a circular microstrip patch antenn a operating in the TM02 mode, but it has a much higher gain and lower sidel obe levels. The proposed antenna can be used for millimeter-wave wireless L AN applications. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
