Theoretical transition probabilities are reported for transitions between t
he lowest configurations in Au II, i.e. 5d(10), 5d(9) 6s and 5d(9) 6p. The
calculations employed the method of superposition of configurations (SC) in
the basis of the transformed orbitals. The results are compared with exper
imental data, lifetimes of the 5d(9) 6p levels, based on beam-foil studies.
