Abstract
We present an exact analytic solution for the Jaynes-Cummings model in a le aky optical cavity without using the Markov master equation, in our approac h we solve directly the whole quantum state associated with the atom and th e continuous field modes-modes-of-universe. Our solution exhibits a hierarc hy structure and it is applicable to cases with arbitrary number of photons . The solution can be used to study decoherence effects and the quantum sta te of the transmitted field.
