Abstract
Total cross sections for electron scattering on WF6 molecules have been mea sured in the 75-3500-eV energy range by an absolute transmission method. Th e data are compared to other heavy gases, SF6, Xe, and GeH4. Apparently dif ferent energy dependencies for these gases can be described by the same, si mple four-parameter formula. A study of atomic total-cross-section paramete rs in the keV energy range for 15 atoms from H to W is presented.
