Abstract
Two different realizations of the supersymmetric sine algebra (SSA) are giv en. We show that the quantum superalgebra sl(q)(2/1) is derived from the SS A. We discuss the relevance of the latter result to the study of spin-1/2 B loch electron in a constant magnetic field. The relation between the deform ation parameter q and the degeneracy of Landau levels is established. (C) 2 000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V All rights reserved.
