Experimental results for the expansion of a fluidized bed operating at pres
sure (1-15 bar) and high temperature (20 degrees-600 degrees C) are present
ed for particles belonging to groups B and D. The influence of the diverse
variables on bed expansion is analysed. Furthermore, a semiempirical model
has been developed which allows the prediction of bed expansion as a functi
