M. Georgescu et A. Badanoiu, The silica fume and temperature influence on the hydration and hardening processes of 12CaO center dot 7Al(2)O(3), REV RO CHIM, 44(1), 1999, pp. 25-30
The hydration behaviour of C(12)A(7)*)-silica fume mixtures for two differe
nt temperatures -23 degrees C and 45 degrees C has been studied, using X-ra
y diffraction, thermal analysis and IR spectroscopy. The hexagonal aluminat
e hydrates initially formed (C(2)AH(8) and C(4)AH(13)) are converted in C(3
)AH(6) - for reference sample acid cubic phases with silica content - in si
lica fume blended samples. The mechanical strengths of C(12)A(7)-silica fum
e composites are superior as compared with reference (C(12)A(7)) and show a
n increasing trend up to 60 days when kept in a moisture at 45 degrees C.
