Abstract
A program is capable of providing a meaningful prediction of the behav iour of single screw extruders. The two-dimensional modeling permits a truly accurate prediction of temperature and dissipation minima withi n the screw channel in the region where melting occurs. It is particul arly useful for materials with critical thermal behaviour since it is capable to make predictions which one-dimensional models cannot provid e.
