Abstract
A model of thermoelectrically induced formation of surface periodic structu res allowing for vortex motion of the melt is proposed. An analytical solut ion for surface profile dynamics involving two-dimensional transport is obt ained. It is shown that structure formation can occur only when the melt vi scosity is sufficiently low. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
