Abstract
Tributyltin (TBT) is widespread in the marine environment owing to its rele ase from antifouling paints and its monitoring is mandatory under national and EC regulations. Many hyphenated techniques have been developed within t he last 15 years and collaborative efforts were deemed necessary to evaluat e their performance, This paper describes current methods used far TBT moni toring in sediment and mussel and reports results obtained in certification campaigns of a range of reference materials.
