K. Dobosiewicz et al., Concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and base cations in the air and drinking water of the Silesian Rehabilitation Centre, Poland, WATER A S P, 118(1-2), 2000, pp. 101-113
Investigations were carried out to assess air and potable water pollution w
ith selected highly bioactive organic compounds, including polycyclic aroma
tic hydrocarbons (PAHs), in the environment of the Silesian Rehabilitation
Centre, Repty Slaskie, Poland. The results were compared with those for oth
er towns of the region.
Solid phase extraction (SPE) and capillary gas chromatography (CGC) with fl
ame ionization detector (FID) and mass spectrometer (MS) were used for a qu
alitative-quantitative analysis. Moreover, water concentration of calcium,
magnesium ions and nitrite ions were measured by spectrophotometric methods
. The quality of the Centre environment air and water found to be satisfact
ory and better than that in the other sampling sites which were studied for
all the parameters.
