Abstract
Case material is used to explore the idea that ambiguous autonomic aro usal may be ''overtranslated'' as sexual arousal, both by therapists a nd by clients. As a result, other important aspects of intimacy in rel ationships do not get taught or discussed in supervision/therapy.
