The Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster syndrome is the most requent cause of vagi nal aplasia. There are several operations that can correct this malfor mation; the most important is that of Vecchietti. The rapid developmen t of the laparoscopic know-how in the last years enables a pelviscopic approach of the laparotomic part of the Vecchietti operation. The que stion remains whether there are real advantages or whether the choice between laparotomy and laparoscopy should depend exclusively on the pe rsonal experience of the surgeon.
