Abstract
For the chromatogrpaher, TOF mass spectrometry has added new dimensions to MS detection. In addition to providing unequivocal qualitative analysis, TO F adds sensitivity and speed. Complete mass spectra can be generated with a frequency of 5-10 kHz. This now provides the capability of signal averagin g, single ion monitoring, and the ability to monitor fast separations with very narrow peaks.
