Gorham syndrome is a rare chronic disease of children and young adults, fea
turing massive osteolysis with pathological fractures and complicated by re
spiratory and neurological deficits. To date, 175 cases have been reported
in the literature but information on anaesthetic management is sparse. We p
resent a child with Gorham syndrome who underwent urgent surgical medullary
decompression and who subsequently developed bilateral pleural effusions.
