Abstract
A young female with organic delusional syndrome induced by hyperprolac tinemia was admitted to the Psychiatry Clinic of Ankara Social Securit y Hospital. The most striking characteristic of her history was either worsening of the endocrinologic clinical outcome under conventional n euroleptic treatment or worsening of clinical psychiatric outcome unde r bromocriptine therapy. A new atypical neuroleptic, melperone, sugges ted to minimally affect plasma prolactin levels, was started. Her psyc hotic complaints significantly subsided and she was devoid of any symp tomatological change regarding her endocrinological status. These resu lts were discussed.
