A. Arrieta et al., Synthesis and characterization of sodium chloride thin films obtained by pulsed laser deposition, APPL PHYS A, 69, 1999, pp. S491-S493
Sodium chloride thin films were synthesized by pulsed laser ablation from m
onocrystalline and sintered targets. The structure of the films is characte
rized by X-ray diffraction and their surface quality is characterized by sc
anning electron microscopy. From thermoluminescence spectra, two different
types of defects are identified as cation vacancies and chlorine interstiti
als. This thermoluminescence in the UV-visible has been observed by heating
the samples up to 600 K.
