RADIOACTIVE-WASTE

The Bundesamt fur Strahlenschutz (BfS, Federal Office for Radiation Pr otection) performs an annual inquiry into the amount of untreated radi oactive residues as well as the existing and arising amounts of condit ional radioactive wastes and the amounts to be expected in the followi ng year. This paper comprises the figures of this inquiry for the peri od of time until December 1995 and besides, a prognosis for the amount of conditioned radioactive wastes to be expected until the year 2010 and 2080, respectively, on the basis of current realistic assumptions and an outlook on the present situation of radioactive waste interim s torage and disposal.
