The copper(I) complex with N-(2-carboxyphenyl) salicylidenamine and imidazo
le ligands, Cu(C14H9NO3) (C3H4N2), was synthesized. The crystal belongs to
orthorhombic, space group Pca2(1), with the crystal cell parameters: a=0.94
4 53(12) nm, b=1.122 78(9) nm, c=2.912 3(4) nm, V=3. 088 5(6) nm(3), M-r,37
0. 84, Z=8, R=0.036, wR=0.087, GOF=0.975. The copper( I) ion lies in a dist
orted square-planar environment composed of two oxygen atoms, one nitrogen
atom of the tridentate Schiff base ligand and one nitrogen atom of the imid
azole ligand. The complex was also characterized by elementary analysis, IR
I UV-Vis, TG and cycle voltammetry measurement.
