Abstract
Polyoxotungstates with propyl methacrylate functionalities and ethyl methac rylate were copolymerized in acetonitrile leading to the formation of netwo rks whose swelling properties have been studied in several organic solvents . The polyanions ensure the cross-linking of poly(ethyl methacrylate) chain s and are therefore an integral part of the covalent structure of the gels. This synthetic route to achieve the preparation of polyanion-containing po lymeric materials differs from those studied up to now.
