Abstract
Manipulation of the defect chemistry in ZnS:Mn and SrS:Cu bulk and thin-fil m phosphors has resulted in specific and controllable emission colors acros s the entire visible spectrum. Saturated red emission is observed at except ionally low threshold voltages in ac thin-film electroluminescent devices, while unsurpassed levels of luminous efficiency are observed for devices op erating at saturated green wavelengths.
