Abstract
We review growth, percolation, and spatial correlations in deposition model s of disordered fiber networks. We first consider 2D models with effective interactions between the deposited particles represented by simple parametr ization. In particular, we discuss the case of single cluster growth, growt h of uniformly random networks, and flocculated networks with nontrivial sp atial correlations. We also consider a 3D deposition model of flexible fibe rs that describes the growth of multilayer structures of disordered network s. We discuss the statistical properties of such structures, transport of f luid through the network, and the asymptotics of growth in the limit of inf inite thickness. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
