Abstract
A new method for calculating the resonant frequency of electrically thin an d thick rectangular microstrip antennas, based on the fuzzy inference syste ms, is presented. The optimum design parameters of the fuzzy inference syst ems are determined by using the classical, modified, and improved tabu sear ch algorithms. The calculated resonant frequency results are in very good a greement with the experimental results reported elsewhere. (C) 2000 John Wi ley & Sons, Inc.
