Abstract
Clear coatings were prepared from palmitin. Curing at temperatures below 20 0 degrees C did not cause any degradation as is shown by thermogravimetric analysis. By adjustment of the composition and the curing temperature, the gloss of the coating can be varied. Optimum gloss was obtained by increasin g the oil length and the curing temperature and by reducing the alkyd/melam ine ratio.
