Abstract
The effect of several solvent systems on the chromatographic response of fu monisin B-1 and B-2 derived with 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carb amate (AccQ.Fluor) is described. Naturally contaminated corn samples were e xtracted and purified by a standard method. Then, samples were dissolved in different solvents, derived with AccQ.Fluor reagent and analysed using HPL C. Results were solvent dependent, methanol being the best one among all as sayed solvents for both fumonisins studied and acetonitrile the poorest, o- Phthaldialdehyde (OPA) reagent was used as a reference method.
